I’ve hung 12 pictures to fill in at the Bayville Library. On May 3rd I will be displaying my images at the Town of Oyster Bay Department of Public Works. There is limited viewing for the public there, but the library is open to all.

I will be hanging a new exhibition at the Doubleday Babcock Center in Oyster Bay today. It will run until the end of the month.

I have been invited to participate in the B.J. Spoke Gallery’s Artists’ Choice exhibition. Thanks to an invitation from fellow photographer, Holly Gordon, I am co-exhibiting with her. Here is a blurb from the exhibition’s catalog:


Like the tides that bind, Stan and I are visually entranced by water…sometimes in ripples and sometimes in waves. We each collect our photographic data in the field and use intricate and technical digital darkroom tools to create our art.  We are both dedicated Photoshop CS users but I am a devotee of NIK filters and Stan uses Photomatix Pro and Corel Painter. A few day after closing the Bethpage Library show, a new exhibition was hung at the Bayville Library. Totalling 10 pieces this show is made up of mostly new material taken in the last 8 months. It will remain there until January 31, 2009.

In the past week I took down my pictures from the winery show (but they kept two for the big wall in the tasting room) and from the Bayville Library. Yesterday I hung 20 pictures (with the help of my friend Steve) at the Bethpage Public Library. That exhibition will run until the end of the month.

The NWPLI group exhibition at The Castello di Borghese Winery opened today. There are almost 200 photographs, of which 9 are mine. If you are out east, drop in and see the exhibition and have a taste of wine. The reception is set for Saturday, October 25, 2–5 PM. It was a fun party last year and should be even better this year. The exhibition runs until November 21, 2008.

I have a solo exhibition at the Citibank Financial Center gallery in Old Brookville (Waldbaum’s shopping center - Glen Head Avenue & Glen Cove Road) until October 31, 2008. There are 18 images on display there.

Looking ahead to December. I will be exhibiting at the Bethpage Public Library (47 Powell Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714, (516) 931-3907, bethpage@nassaulibrary.org). This show will run from the 1st to the 31st.

On October 1, 2008 I will be hanging an exhibition at the Citibank Financial Center in Old Brookville again. This year’s theme will be Water. Also in October, I will be in a group show with the NWPLI at The Castello di Borghese Winery, Cutchogue, NY. The show will run from October 18 – November 22, 2008. The opening reception is Saturday, October 25, 1–5 PM.

I will have 18 images on display at the Hicksville Library until the end of the month.

The Huntington Arts Council Show will be closing a couple of days early. If you’d like to see this show of Long Island water scenes, get there by Wednesday, July 23,2008.

On Augest 1, 2008, I will hang a show at the Hicksville Library. The photographs will be in the library’s community room and available per the library’s regular hour until August 31st.

Attended the reception for the Views of Long Island Shores at the Huntington Arts Council Gallery (213 Main Street) tonight. The reception was well attended and I believe all the work was well received. Please try to see the exhibition, it will be on until July 25, 2008.

The Oyster Bay Library exhibition is over and the Bayville Library is now hanging. I'm showing a smaller set of water view images. This will be my last exhibit until April or May. I'm taking a much needed rest. If you're in the area please stop by and have a look.

My exhibition of water scenes in and around Oyster Bay and Bayville may be seen in the lower level and the main room. The show will run until the end of the month.

Today we took down the NWPLI exhibition at the Castella di Borghese Winery. 13 pieces in all were sold including one of mine. I think it was a very successful show.

On Friday, November 30th I took down the huge (32-print) show at the Hicksville Library and the much smaller Bayville Library show. Then on Saturday, I took images from both shows and installed some of them at the Bethpage Library (runs until 12/31). Today, is the opening reception at the Footprint Gallery, 51 Gibson Avenue, Huntington, NY, from 1-5 PM. Hope to see you there!

I've been getting great comments about the Hicksville Library show. If you haven't gotten to see it, there are only 10 days left. On December 1st, some of the images will move to a much smaller space at the Bethpage Library (outside the auditorium). I just hung five big pieces in the Bayville Library. It wasn't planned, but another artist was a no-show and I was asked if I could fill in for them.

I have had sales at both the Hicksville Library and the Borghese show (runs until 12/9/07).

The Castello di Borghese NWPLI group exhibition opened today. There are 185 pictures, of which 6 are mine. If you are out east, drop in and see the exhibition and have a taste of wine. The reception was jam-packed all afternoon. It was a fun party! Thanks to all who stopped by.

The Citibank Exhibition is down. In it's place, I've combined all the flower images with water scenes (by, of and near) to make a huge 32-piece exhibition at the Hicksville Public Library (169 Jerusalem Ave. -- S. of Old Country Road). It's located in the conference room and is available for viewing during normal library hours (check here and here). In case of special events, it might not be open for viewing. My new exhibition at the Citibank Financial Ceter in Old Brookville is now open. It's titled Flowers of a Different Petal. It consists of 16 images of, you guessed it, flowers. It will be on display until the end of the month. If you're in the area please go see it. It's open normal bank hours.

Today I hung 9 photographs from the Citibank show. It's a tight space, but the reaction to it has been great. Left exhibition bookmarks and over 100 have been taken. Here's the poster:

Attended the reception tonight. My Tree on Old Tappen Road was included. The show will run until the end of January.

Today I was notified than my photograph, Tree on Old Tappan Road, Revisited, was accepted into the Annual Citibank Juried Exhibition. The exhibition runs from November 9, 2006 through January 28, 2007 at the Citibank Financial Center, Old Brookville, NY.

Today I got more information about the Town of Oyster Bay's Rotational Art Exhibition. My work will be seen at library's, banks, office building lobbies and other institutions throughout the town. Every month I will have one or two exhibitions running from January through December, 2007. As soon as the schedule is worked out, I will post it here. These will be available for viewing by the public during the normal hours of operation of each facility.

Just received notice that I've been selected to participate in the 33rd Annual Rotational Art Exhibits Program, sponsored by the Town of Oyster Bay. More info to come.

The exhibition has closed. I have been invited back for another one in 2007 (October). Check this space for new exhibition sites.

LIE: Exit 39 North, Glen Cove Road, to Glen Head Road (approx 5 miles). LEFT onto GHR, then a quick LEFT into the shopping center (Park Plaza) parking lot.

NSP: Exit 26, at light go RIGHT. At next light make RIGHT onto LIE service road. Go to next light make LEFT onto Glen Cove Road. Follow LIE directions.

Bayville Road to 2nd light. Make LEFT (road to LV primary/Intermediate). At end of road make RIGHT onto Buckram (towards LV library), continue UNDER the trestle to Piping Rock.
